I don’t know about you, but I’m always curious at the beginning of the year to read some of the horoscopes, astrological, and other predictions for the coming months.
Noting that I used the word ‘predictions’ in that previous sentence, my personal view is to take these things with a pinch of salt, to see them as a general guide, but not something I’m going to rigidly adhere to or expect as definitive truth.
I think the fact that these kinds of systems have been in use for so long (centuries or more in some cases) gives a certain amount of weight to them when it comes to wider themes and cycles, but I would say that my personal belief in them lies towards the looser end of the spectrum.
That said, I’ve been interested to read a few things in the last week or so talking about the numerology of 2024, and the fact that it’s an 8 year (2+0+2+4=8).
According to some, numbers can carry an energetic resonance whose vibrations relate to particular themes.
Spirit Daughter talks about the energy of 2024, and an 8 year, like this:
Eight represents our infinite personal power. This is the year to integrate everything you have learned, discovered, and built over the last seven years. It’s the culmination of your energetic evolution since 2017 to find your true power and stand in it. This is the year to break through anything holding you back from what you know is yours. It’s a time to feel the life you want to live and claim it. As you align with the eight vibration recognize the life that is within reach and then take action to reach for it. This year is your opportunity to find success as you define it and embody your highest potential.
This is also a year to commit to what you want. It’s a time to have a clear vision formed from the lessons of 2023. You know who you are, you know what you want, you can see the future you desire. It’s time to commit to it then take the big and small steps needed to materialize it. Eight is about materialization and manifestation. It’s also associated with abundance. This year brings you the opportunity to create abundance in every area of your life, bringing true balance to all of them.
When we look at the eight, we see a symbol of infinity. Eight represent the infinite and reciprocal nature of the Universe. It reminds us that everything we desire, we are already connected to, and what we send out, we bring back it. The number eight also represents balance. This year brings the opportunity for you to balance all areas of your life and up-level each of them. It’s a time to feel successful at work while thriving in your home life. The eight vibration can help you create aligned relationships while prioritizing self-care. This is year to know you can have it all. You do not have to choose. There is no “this or that” there is only “this and that” while knowing you can have abundance in it all.
Now I like the sound of all of that!
It actually aligns with a lot of the reflections and intentions I’ve been working through myself. Especially those of standing in personal power, committing to action and creating the future you desire from a place of clear vision, and receiving abundance and balance in all areas.
I find it fascinating and thrilling that the concept of the infinity symbol came up (an 8 on its side), because that’s also an image I’ve been feeling into and playing with recently – and is sure to be a subject I return to writing about another day.
Whatever you think or feel about astrology or numerology, or anything else in this field, I know from conversations with others and from what I’ve been seeing and hearing online that many people are feeling a shift coming into this year, so perhaps there is a little nugget of something that chimes with our collective desires and momentum.
It’s certainly going to be intriguing to see how this year pans out, on both a personal and global level.
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the themes and energies of this 8 year, whether they have any resonance for you, or if you’re feeling something different for the coming months – please join the conversation in the comments.
And I’ll leave you with this final thought that spoke to me, even setting off a tiny tingle of excitement:
This is a year not to dream, but to make magic happen.
Now that I can get behind!
This resonates deeply. Thank you for sharing. I can definitely see how a cycle is ending and a new one beginning, especially with all the midlife transits I've been personally going through. But also, reflecting back to 2017, a lot has changed and shifted. Last year was such a Chariot and Tower year. Curious to see what the Strength and the Star bring. Happy 2024! ❤️
